The laboratory has been operating since 1990 under the coordination of Prof. Univ. Dr. Constantin Cosma, a pioneer in radon research and trainer of the team of specialists at the Center for Environmental Radioactivity and Nuclear Data at Babeş-Bolyai University, then moved and developed at the Faculty of Environmental Science and Engineering.
LiRaCC is one of the few laboratories in Europe that offers complex services for radon measurement both in air and in water and soil, respectively offers a complex package for buildings: screening, diagnosis, remediation, and post-remediation measurements.
The laboratory is authorized to conduct investigations and measure the concentration of radon in samples from environmental factors (air, water, soil), by adopting national and European standards in current practice in specific procedures.
Our vision is to lead the nation into a radon risk free environment for enclosed spaces and improve the public health.
Our mission is to actively participate in the definition, promotion and supporting the Romanian programs related to the management of risks related to radon and air quality in buildings or other enclosed spaces.
The only way to be sure of the radon levels within your place (home, office, building) is to test it.
Our lab offers extremely reliable and accurate tests.
